The Warrior Code

The warrior code is a list of sixteen different rules that should be followed by all Clan cats and those within Sibyl's Clowder. These rules were formed long before all four groups were made, made by the original founders.  The Warrior Code is taught from the first moons of kithood to when an elder is faced with death.

  • You may switch clans, but only once, and you may not return to your original clan.

  • Defend your clan, even with your life. You may have relations with other clans, but know that you may face them in battle one day.

  • Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.

  • Elders, queens, sick or injured cats and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders.>

  • Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.

  • A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.

  • Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.

  • A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.

  • The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies, retires, or is exiled.

  • After the death, retirement, promotion (to a leader status), or exile of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh or sunhigh, depending on Clan.

  • A Gathering of all four groups is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among groups at this time.

  • Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats. Only Oracles may be allowed to cross borders without challenge.

  • No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from a different group.

  • The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code, unless it violates the warrior code, or is actively hurting their clan.

  • An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win their battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self-defense.

  • The safety of the Clan as a whole is more important than the safety of one cat.

Oracle Code

The Oracle Code was formed alongside the Warrior Code, and all Oracles are expected to follow and honour their code.

  • An Oracle may have a mate. They are not allowed to birth kits, but may sire them.

  • An Oracle must treat every cat fairly, and cannot deny healing any cat that needs help, even if they are from another group.

  • Oracles may not purposefully fake omens, signs, or dreams for their own sake.

  • Oracles may not harm or kill other cats, otherwise they are a disgrace to StarClan and the Gods.

  • Oracles are outside of Clan rivalries and boundaries. They are first loyal to StarClan, then their Clan, then their other Oracles.

  • An Oracle must be picked by StarClan. Oracle apprentices are picked from the moment of their birth. If an Oracle is not picked or approved by StarClan, they must be stripped of their Oracle title.
